Jessica Bonner, Research Assistance
Jessica Bonner (she/her) is a PhD student in the Department of Urban Design and Planning at the University of Washington. Her interests include queer geographies, urban care infrastructure, planning theory, and urban history. She is currently researching the spatial histories of the LGBTQIA+ community in Seattle, WA.
Kolby LaBree, Research Assistance
Kolby LaBree (she/her) co-owns and operates BellingHistory with The Good Time Girls, providing guided walking tours in Bellingham, Washington. Kolby has a background in cultural resource management and historic preservation, serves on the board of The Whatcom County Historical Society, and on the Historic Preservation Commission for the city of Bellingham. She is also a free-lance researcher and writer, specializing in marginalized stories.
Kano Shi, Digital Media Specialist
Kano Shi (they/them) is a digital media specialist and LGBTQ+ immigrant rights advocate with a Master’s in Communication. Their broader work centers on organizing immigration resources and educational clinics. For the Western Washington project, Kano leads the social media campaign to drive community engagement. Outside of advocacy, they are a certified personal trainer dedicated to empowering the queer community through inclusive, gender-affirming fitness.
Isabel Squier, Assistant
Isabel Squier (she/her) is a recent Dartmouth College graduate with a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies, currently applying to master’s programs in environmental and community planning. Her academic and professional work focuses on environmental education, community-based research, and socially grounded approaches to resource management. As part of the team, she assists with research projects, publicity, and administrative tasks.
